CTTIC Webinar Series: Consecutive Interpreting Toolkit

CTTIC Webinar Series: Consecutive Interpreting Toolkit

You are warmly invited to join two practical, skills-based workshops designed to strengthen interpreting performance and confidence. The first deals with core interpreting skills, while the second delves into practical note-taking systems for interpreters.

These sessions are suitable for professional translators and early-career interpreters, and anyone looking to refresh core techniques.

This webinar is offered by the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC) in collaboration with ATIO.

Workshop 1: Core Interpreting Skills (Practice-Focused)
Date: March 9, 2026, 7-9 p.m. Eastern time
A hands-on workshop covering essential interpreting techniques such as memory, active listening, anticipation, chunking, reformulation, clarification requests, and self-monitoring. Participants will work through realistic scenarios to build accuracy, flow, and confidence under time pressure.

Workshop 2: Note-Taking for Interpreters (Practice-Focused)
Date: March 25, 2026, 7-9 p.m. Eastern time
A practical workshop on note-taking systems used in consecutive interpreting, focusing on structure, symbols, abbreviations, and strategies for capturing the ideas. Participants will practice with short texts, speeches, read back from notes and learn how to produce efficient notes that support accurate delivery.

There will be a Q&A session at the end of the workshop. This workshop will be conducted in English only.
