ATIO Secretariat, Ottawa – Membership Information Management Intern

The Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO) is the professional association representing and certifying translators, interpreters, and terminologists in the province of Ontario. ATIO has been approved for funding by the Canada Summer Jobs Program to hire for the summer months.

  1. Database management
    Assess status of hard archived files.
    Extract cancelled/deceased/invalid member files to boxes for storage (purge).
    Familiarize oneself with Presspoint database in order to assess and review database content for accuracy and integrity (update status and date: active/cancelled/lapsed, dates, admin notes.
    Complete Members’ files required fields as needed.
    Relabel (archive) former members’ files.
  2. Database transition
    Assess functionalities of current database.
    Work closely with Operations Coordinator and identify weaknesses, and missing functionalities.
    Gain awareness of Member 365 platform.
  3. Initiate development of new database
    Identify functionalities and fields.
  4. Data migration
    Work on development of migration plan with Operations Coordinator.
    Initiate data migration through pilots and beta testing.
  5. Evaluation and controls
    Work with Operations Coordinator to assess integrity and completeness, as well as operations of all functionalities.
  6. Statistics
    Ensure all exam results are entered precisely in the database.
    Develop preliminary tables and reports.
