Entrance Exam

Cost: $350.00 plus tax per language combination

[To register and pay for this event, you must contact the ATIO Secretariat by sending an email to info@atio.on.ca.]

Once an applicant’s ATIO Application Package is reviewed and accepted by the ATIO Secretariat, applicants in TRANSLATION must successfully pass the Entrance Exam in order to be considered a Candidate for Certification in Translation of ATIO.

Only approved applicants in translation are eligible to write the Entrance Exam. (An “applicant” is a person who has paid the $130 application fee and has been advised that their ATIO Application Package has been reviewed and accepted by the ATIO Secretariat.)

The Entrance Exam is an assessment of an approved applicant in translation’s language and translation skills to test if he or she is qualified to write the Canadian Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters Council (CTTIC) Translation Certification Exam.

The Entrance Exam is a two hour long translation exam where applicants in translation are required to translate a short (175-200 word) general text in the language combination they applied for. Successful applicants are then admitted to ATIO as a Candidate for Certification and are then eligible to write the CTTIC Certification Exam in Translation.

Passing the Entrance Exam does not make an applicant certified.

At this time, no Entrance Exam is required for applicants interested in joining as an Interpreter or Terminologist.
